Attorney

Wojciech Włodarczyk (born 1970) – PhD in law, graduate of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin and postgraduate studies in the field of industrial property law at the Jagiellonian University. In the years 1995-2011 an academic teacher (assistant and lecturer) at the Department of Administrative Law of the Catholic University of Lublin, supervised by Prof. Wojciech Łączkowski – a long-term judge of the Constitutional Tribunal, member of the Monetary Policy Council and the Chairman of the National Electoral Commission. He wrote his doctoral dissertation on trademark protection law under the supervision of an outstanding specialist in this field – Prof. Ryszard Skubisz. This dissertation was prepared for print and published as a book entitled The Distinguishing Capacity of a Trade Mark (Zdolność odróżniająca znaku towarowego, Lublin 2001). It was the first scientific presentation of this issue in Poland in the context of new legislation, which was thoroughly reformed by the Industrial Property Law Act of 2000.

Since 1995, for 16 years, he has tried to combine university teaching with professional practice as a legal advisor and patent attorney. Currently, he gives lectures and conducts didactic classes only as a guest speaker at the invitation of prestigious professional and educational institutions. He is an author of numerous publications. He speaks English and has a passive knowledge of German.

He holds the professional titles of European Patent Attorney before the European Patent Office, Patent Attorney in Poland and Professional Representative for designs and marks in the EU. He remains a member of the Polish Chamber of Patent Attorneys (Warsaw) and the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (Munich). He started his regular business practice in 1998 as an intangible assets specialist in well-known companies of the food industry. He has been very closely associated with this industry as a lawyer and patent attorney until today. He has experience of intensive cooperation with both small and medium-sized business and large companies, including global corporations. He is also a particularly valued advisor in the field of industrial property law among internationally renowned designers and fashion creators. In these and many other industries he has handled the cases of many well-known and famous brands. Over the years he has cooperated as a patent attorney with many law firms and legal advisers. He has also co-founded teams with other patent attorneys or lawyers to deal with particularly precedential cases. He is an arbitrator in the Arbitration Court for Internet Domains in Warsaw at the Polish Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications, and also – as a domain name judge – in the Arbitration Court at the Polish Chamber of Commerce in Warsaw. He is a partner in the expert partnership Włodarczyk + Włodarczyk patent attorneys.

Wojciech is married. He is passionate about gardening, which practices in his free time, and is enchanted with the ideas propagated by the French gardener Gilles Clément. He is an expert in the history of architecture, and in this field he is an admirer of the works of Sou Fujimoto. He remains very devoted (with reciprocity) to his beloved cat, whose name is Sou.
